Ms. Brulliard,
I read with interest the article you wrote, "Its promised land drying, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints works to save the Great Salt Lake." I thought it was beautifully written.
In its style guide, the church has asked that, in an article's first reference to it, the full name be used: "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." When a shorter term is needed, the terms "the Church" or "the Church of Jesus Christ" are encouraged.
They have asked the media to avoid the use of the nicknames "Mormon Church" or "LDS Church" as these leave out Jesus' name.
They ask that its members be referred to as "members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints," "members of the Church of Jesus Christ," or "Latter-day Saints."
Thank you again for an excellent article.
